Take a Wellness Vacation at a German Spa

Wellness has become big business recently, and the idea of taking a wellness vacation will surely not be a new one, for most of you reading this.
But when it comes to wellness, nobody does it like the Germans: they’ve perfected wellness into a new art form.
The last time we were visiting relatives in the Black Forest area, we discovered that the Germans seem to have a particular affinity for treating themselves to everything associated with wellness. Here I’m talking about of course massages, beauty treatments, special diats, exercise regimes and of course saunas and spas.
And the surprising thing is, generally we Americans think of Europe as this someplace hideously expensive. (I know, this often has a lot to do with the actual currency conversion rate). But the truth is, in some things the Germans have better services at cheaper prices than we do in the USA. One such example is regarding wellness hotels.
Wellness hotels give you the kind of pampering experience that your body and soul sometimes need. Have the feeling that you’re burned out on the job? Also have a high level of stress in your private life? Then do you body and mind a big, big favor and treat yourself to at least a long weekend at a wellness hotel. You will feel rejuvenated afterwards.
Much better, of course, than a long weekend would be a week or even several weeks. For the Germans who regularly enjoy spas and wellness hotels, a stay at a spa for a week would hardly be worth it. Stays of several weeks are customary.
If you’re having trouble deciding which German spa to stay at, take our recommendation and stay at the same Bavarian health spa that we stayed at. Just search for “wellness Bayern” or something similar on a search engine, and you’re certain to find lots of suitable wellness hotels in the results.
As with any online shopping decision, when choosing a wellness spa or hotel, be sure to read the online reviews of their customers to find out if they’ve had positive experiences while staying there.
Generally, the wellness hotels we’ve discovered in Germany have all had an extremely high level of quality.
