Apart from making bed look nice, the linen is good in summer as it is much cooler to sleep in and manages to retain heat in winter.
You are no longer limited to white bed linen only because it might be easier to care for and maintain in terms of ironing, you can now choose other colors and not have to worry about heavy bleaching to keep the linen in its white state. You can select bed linen that will match the various things that you have in your room. Bed linen can now be washed and dried and still remain wrinkle free.
Looking After Your Bed Linen
You should be careful about the type of detergent that you use. Detergents differ in their strengths and properties and you need to find one that is suitable for your linen . Ideally you should settle for one that is not a bleach and won’t cause the color to run. It should not affect the strength of the sheets and must be soft. You can always experiment with a small part of the linen to see how the detergent reacts.
Using hot water to wash your linen is not a good idea. It will make the linen weak and more susceptible to wear and tear. To make sure that your linen is clean avoid overloading the machine and make sure that sheets are run through an extra rinse cycle. Soap residues that remain in the linen after washing also affect the softness. By following these easy tips then you will be sure that your bed linen lasts for years.
